I am an avid sketcher. I love to put my concepts and ideas onto paper before I do anything. I love to organize content, and play with the flow of the interactions as well as the decisions the player will make in my projects.
I promptly make many prototypes so that my ideas come to life quickly. Then I immediately put my project into the hands of a player in order to gather data.
I am eager to learn from my mistakes. I closely follow the decisions the player makes. I love playtests because it's where I get raw data a feedback straight from the player. I try and gain as much data as early and often as I can. I'm always fascinated how differently people react to the same prototype. This is where I try to fail the most, but through failure I discover so much on how to develop my project further. I finish my playtest by asking the players various questions on what they felt during the play test in order to gain perspective on their experience.
I study everything that the players did and try to get inside their heads. I will also test out my prototype as well, and make the same decisions the players did to further grasp their perspective.
I will reiterate my prototype based off the feedback I have received, and go back to the drawing board to break down the interactions and decisions the player made to improve the project and bring it to its full potential. Then I repeat the process until the players are satisfied. To me, it’s all about what the players want.
